COURSE CONTENT:

 MODULE 1: Introduction into project management

Instructor will give an overview to attendees about the basics of project management, introducing them with the definition of a project and project management, project constraints, relationship between portfolio management, program management, operations management, etc.

MODULE 2: PMBOK 7th Edition: what is new?

New edition of PMBOK will bring substantive changes in the content. These changes will affect the content of the PMP exam. Instructor will provide what is new with PMBOK 7th Edition putting focus on Domains, Tasks, and Enablers. Three different domains will be discussed in this module: People, Process, Business Environment.

MODULE 3: Project Governance

Attendees will learn about the model of Project Governance. It will be discussed how different organizational structures can affect project success, and what is the role of different stakeholders within project governance. Special attention will be given to project management structures (such as PMOs) and development of project management teams.

 MODULE 4: Business Environment & Business Value Delivery

Every project organization is surrounded with its business environment. In this module attendees will learn different methods of analyzing the business environment. Attendees will learn what is the role of projects in reaching business value.  The relationship between strategy, projects and operations will be presented. Different methods of project selection will be also presented here. How to manage projects under uncertainty conditions will be a special topic in this module. Thus, expected monetary value as one of useful methods will be presented.

 MODULE 5: Project Life Cycle

In this module attendees will understand the boundaries of every project. Here, different process groups and knowledge areas will be introduced to participants. One of the questions to be addressed here is: Why are some projects organized around a single phase while others around multiple phases. Here we will recognize how the risks and costs of change affect the project at different stages.

 MODULE 6: Project Methodologies: Traditional vs Agile

There is no best methodology for project implementation. It depends on many factors: specificities of the industry, sector, or project itself. In this module attendees will learn characteristics and differences between traditional and agile project methodologies.

 MODULE 7: Project Integration Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project integration. This is the project knowledge area in which project managers are particularly responsible. Attendees will learn how to start with the project, to prepare a project management plan, coordinate all activities and to close the project.

 MODULE 8: Project Stakeholder Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project scope. It covers processes related to the management of individuals who are impacted by the project, namely the stakeholders. Different stakeholders’ strategies based on the analysis of the stakeholder matrix will be discussed.

 MODULE 9: Project Communication Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project communication scope. This module covers the various modes of communication that can be set up within a project for smooth operations. Special attention will be given to conflicts and how to manage them effectively.

 MODULE 10: Project Scope Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project scope. The project’s scope defines what exactly needs to be executed in the project. Special attention will be given to different processes like requirements collection, WBS creation, scope control, etc. involved in ensuring the result is maintained within the defined scope.

 MODULE 11: Project Schedule Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project schedule. Special focus will be on scheduling techniques, identifying dependencies between project tasks, creating network diagrams, using critical path method, and creating schedule model.

 MODULE 12: Project Risk Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project risks. There is no project without risks. Thus, attendees will learn different processes of identifying risks, performing a risk analysis (both qualitative and quantitative), planning risk responses, implementing these responses, and monitoring risks.

MODULE 13: Project Cost Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project budget. Attendees will learn different cost estimation tools and techniques. They will learn how to compose the project budget. Special attention will be given how to include financial funds to address different types of risks. Earn Value Management will be presented as a valuable tool for monitoring the project progress.

 MODULE 14: Project Resources Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project resources.  This module will cover different processes involved in planning resource management, estimating resource requirements based on activities, and acquiring resources. This includes steps to build, develop, manage, and control resource teams.

 MODULE 15: Project Quality Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project quality. It covers the different processes involved in defining the quality standards and methods to test the quality and ensure the standards are met. Attendees will learn to plan quality management, perform quality assurance, and control end quality.

MODULE 16: Project Procurement Management

In this module attendees will learn processes, tools and techniques related to project procurements. This module involves processes related to the procurement of various resource elements: workers, materials, and equipment. Participants will be introduced on different models of procurement. Different types of contracts will be discussed, especially from the point of view for project organization.

 MODULE 17: Practical information about PMP certification process according to PMBOK 7th Edition

Instructor will provide step-by-step instructions on how interested participants can successfully prepare for the PMP exam and be certified by Project Management Institute. A set of prerequisites, how to submit the application and how to successfully pass the PMP exam will be presented. In this module you will learn valuable tips for successfully obtaining a PMP certificate.
