What is SAT?

The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. Its purpose is to measure a high school student’s readiness for college and provide colleges with a common data point for comparing all applicants. The SAT evaluates skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, and includes an optional essay section.

Overview of SAT Course

Our SAT course is designed to prepare students thoroughly for the SAT exam, covering all sections: Reading, Writing and Language, Math (with and without a calculator), and the optional Essay. The course includes:

  • Comprehensive Content Review: Detailed lessons on key concepts and strategies for each section of the SAT.
  • Practice Tests: Full-length practice exams to simulate the test day experience and assess progress.
  • Test-Taking Strategies: Techniques to manage time effectively, approach different question types, and maximize scores.
  • Personalized Feedback: Individualized support and feedback to address specific areas of improvement.
  • Interactive Lessons: Engaging and interactive sessions to reinforce understanding and retention of material.

The SAT offers colleges a detailed profile of student skills and strengths, informing strategic recruiting efforts and admissions decisions. College admissions officers review standardized test scores alongside high school GPA, the SAT prep courses and training taken in high school, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, admissions interviews, and personal essays.

This course aims to enhance students’ confidence and performance, ultimately helping them achieve their desired SAT scores and gain admission to their preferred colleges.

SAT Exam Format

The SAT exam syllabus has a total of 3 sections. The three sections of the SAT syllabus are Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Earlier, there was an optional essay writing section which was recently discontinued by the SAT College Board. The SAT format includes 154 multiple-choice questions. The SAT is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test created and administered by the College Board. However, the SAT Exam score only cannot guarantee a  student’s admission – the SAT exam prep takes into consideration many factors during the holistic review of an applicant’s profile.

  • Reading Test -65 minutes, 52 questions
  • Writing and Language Test – 35 minutes ,44 questions
  • Math Test -Without calculator 25minutes , 20 questions
  • Math test – With calculator 55minutes, 38questions

Scoring Scale For SAT

The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a globally recognized college admission test, administered by the College Board, that lets high school students show colleges what theyknow and how well they can apply that knowledge. Many colleges require scores from the SAT or ACT tests as a part of the admissions process. Your SAT exam score is a key component of your college applications.

  • The Verbal section score is given on a scale of 200-800
  • The Math section score is presented on a scale of 200-800
  • The entire SAT score ranges from 400-1600

Who Should Attend?

Most colleges and universities will accept scores from either the SAT or ACT, and do not favor one test over the other. That said, college-bound students are increasingly taking both the SAT and ACT. The best way to decide if taking the SAT, ACT, or bothtests is right for you is to take a timed full-length practice test of each type. Since the content and style of the SAT and ACT are very similar, factors like how you handle time pressure and what types of questions you find most challenging can help you determine which test is a better fit.
